Funding for digitalisation in Austria.

Programmes in Vienna and the federal states, what is funded and how to apply.

In short

Digitalisation projects are funded in Austria – in Vienna with 25 to 50 %, in the other federal states depending on the programme. A website alone is rarely funded; online booking, Buddys and process integration are more likely to be. The application must always be filed before the project starts. As of 5 October 2026, without guarantee.

Is there funding for digitalisation in Austria?

Yes. Digitalisation projects are funded in Austria, in Vienna with 25 to 50 %, in the other federal states depending on the programme. Funding mainly goes to what takes work off your desk: online booking with a calendar, enquiry and ordering systems, Buddys, data integration. The funding body decides, not us.

What funding is there in Vienna?

The Vienna Business Agency has two fitting programmes. “Lebendiges Grätzl”: 25 % of project costs, 35 % in target areas, costs from €7,500, up to €20,000 grant. “Digitalisierung”: up to 50 % of eligible costs from €10,000, up to €50,000 grant, with a digitalisation plan. Both run until 31 December 2026.

  • “Lebendiges Grätzl”: micro and small businesses located in Vienna, founders included; explicitly also process digitalisation, AI and cloud solutions.
  • “Digitalisierung”: small and medium-sized businesses with premises in Vienna for at least one year; standard software or hardware alone is not funded.

Is a website eligible for funding?

A website on its own is funded almost nowhere. The exception is Styria: SFG’s “Lebens!Nah” explicitly names a first website or first online shop (30 %, up to €2,500). Otherwise a website with online booking, a Buddy or process integration has clearly better chances.

What applies in the other federal states?

Lower Austria funds 20 % from €5,000 with “digi4Wirtschaft”, Upper Austria 35 % up to €7,000 with “DIGITAL.PLUS 26” (until 2 November 2026), Carinthia 30 % up to €10,000 with “Umsetzung.KI”, Vorarlberg advice and implementation with “GO.DIGITAL”. Salzburg, Tyrol and Burgenland currently have no open regional programme for small projects.

The nationwide KMU.DIGITAL is fully used up for 2026; no applications are possible at the moment. Budgets are often gone within weeks – we check the current status before every application.

In four steps: funding check, project and digitalisation plan, joint application, then implementation with proof. The funding check is non-binding; for our support we agree a fixed success fee in advance, due only on approval. If nothing is granted, you pay nothing for the support.
